    Meadow-Rue Genus Details

Meadow-rue are perennial plants that grow commonly in northern latitudes of the U.S. This genus has 150 species, 25 of which are found in North America. The plants usually grow 2 to 3 feet tall and have light, airy foliage and attractive purple, violet, lavender, or white flowers. All species produce abundant airborne pollen during an extended flowering period from March through August. Most species flower primarily in the spring until mid-summer, but flowering time can be earlier or later depending on latitude and altitude.
    Meadow-Rue Allergy Info

This genus is not commonly cited as a source of allergy. Due to the heavy pollen shed, however, this may be a cause of pollinosis during late spring to early summer.
